I'm the one who needs help

I a mum of 2, is the one who need help. I'm the one who feels the need to self harm. I'm stuck in a rut and self harming is the one way to release this for a while.

Hi, thanks so much for your comment on here, we are so sorry to hear things have become difficult for you and that self-harm has become a way of coping. This forum is for parents of those whose's children are harming as we are a youth charity.

There are however some places you can go for help and support as an adult, Mind is a great adult charity who will be able to support you. There is also the charity called Harmless who also work with adults.

It also may be worth chatting to your GP for help and support in your area

    • I do believe all of the ideas you've offered for your post. They are really convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are very quick for newbies. May just you please extend them a little from next time? Thank you for the post. fbkccabegdkdbbdg

  • Good evening
Me and my family are looking for support groups to go to in Nottingham to try and understand my sons depression and self harming. It hit crisis point last night and we are out of our comfort zone and don’t know what to do. Doctor has put him on another-depressants but we need some help with self harming. Please could you advise us.
    Many thanks

  • Hi to both of you - firstly, the lady who started the chat....please get some help, for all of you. do you know what might be making you so low? being a parent is exhausting and often brings so many mixed feelings - please chat to your GP or mind. x

to the parent in Nottingham - we are starting a new parents support session next week - weds eve - to help parents to support their child, sounds like it might be worth joining? in terms of local based support - perhaps some talking therapy or if talking is too hard for him, some art based therapy? keeping communication open, non judgemental and trying (!) to keep things calm might help. it's a long haul. best wishes.
