My son is 6 years old and has been hitting himself in anger since around 2 years of age. I asked social services for help when I first became concerned to be told he would outgrow it and that it was just a faze. However, today after being told off, he proceeded to hit himself again. This time causing slight bruising to his forehead. This is a major concern for me as his father also has anger issues and I want my son to understand its OK to be angry but not to hurt himself. I am scared these feelings will progress further and I do not know how to manage it.
